Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy is keyhole joint surgery which can be used to correct problems inside the joints through 2 or 3 incisions which are less than a centimeter long. Commonly it is used to repair meniscus & cartilage or to reconstruct ligaments inside the knee. Injuries to the knee are common in athletes who can return to their sporting activity without much delay after the arthroscopic procedure.

Which Joints can be replaced?

Now, almost all joints can be replaced or reconstructed as the need may be. Commonly Knee, Hip and Shoulder. There are replacement procedures for the Ankle, Elbow, Hand joints and Spine.

What is Joint Replacement (Arthroplasty)?

Arthroplasty is an operative procedure in which the arthritic or dysfunctional joint surface is replaced with something better or by remodeling or realigning the joint to provide a painfree, functional joint.
In short, the damaged joint surface is replaced by new material and deformities are corrected so that the patient gets pain free mobility.
