Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy is keyhole joint surgery which can be used to correct problems inside the joints through 2 or 3 incisions which are less than a centimeter long. Commonly it is used to repair meniscus & cartilage or to reconstruct ligaments inside the knee. Injuries to the knee are common in athletes who can return to their sporting activity without much delay after the arthroscopic procedure.

its good, can u tell me can we diagnose meniscal tear or acl rupture on CT SCAN and its accuracy.

Dear Vinay
Although MRI scan is considered the gold standard now for non-invasively diagnosing ACL and Meniscal injuries, CT scan surprisingly has a sensisitiviy of 90% and specificity of 85% for such soft tissue lesions. You can see the article - Rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament diagnosed by computertomography - by N. Schwarz , in the Journal of European Surgery
